I have been waiting a whole month for someone to check for busted pipeline. I still have water just sitting in my YARD!
SED has gotten some pretty terrible reviews. I have never had one problem with them. The drive thru is super convenient, the few times I've had to talk to an employee they've been fair. Also, there was some sort of mishap where a nearby telephone pole just exploded - I called (on a weekend) and they had someone out there with an hour or so. The company isn't perfect, but they do care.
I went to the SED to set up my utilities today, a week after a knee operation. I am on a walker and not very steady still. I was helped by a wonderful woman named Koretta. She helped me when I was struggling and never had a negative thing to say. When I couldn't get my lease to email to her she suggested coming back later. When I got to the parking lot she sent someone out to let us know she had received the email and could set up my utilities. When I got back inside she insisted that I sit in the lobby and she got everything ready for me. It was so nice to have a friendly, helpful person while I was struggling. Koretta is the best!
Was charged $40 due to them not being able to process my payment. I had plenty of funds in my bank account to cover it but they sent a notice saying that the money was being returned and I would have to pay $40 for them returning the payment or face disconnection. Tried calling them and had no answer. I left a message on their answering machine but at this point I highly doubt that I'll hear back. Also they always mail the bill out late and usually only have 2 or 3 days to pay or or face disconnection. This wouldn't be such an issue if paying online didn't cost anything, however they charge you a convenience fee for your electric and tour water, meaning you have to pay their convenience fee twice to pay one month's bill.
After reading some of the reviews, I was a little concerned about doing business with this company. But I spoke to Chandra Bell, and she was wonderful. She was so friendly and helpful. I definitely hope all of the staff will model themselves after her.
