For the price, (I am paying $325/month for 2bed/2bath with added washer/dryer) you really can't do much better.
The apartment is old. The people work there are nice, but it seems they are not capable of the job. During my stay, there was an issue with the hot water (it did not stay long enough to take a shower), the maintenance guy must call the people from higher level to fix it. For 3 month, they cannot find where is the problem. Meanwhile, the skin of tub was pilled off for like 2 month. Finally they change the tub, BUT without get it done. I can see the inside of the wall for a month. The soundproof is really bad. I can hear the vibration of the phone upstairs and bark from neighbor's dog. The dog is fine because it never in the bedroom. But the vibration of the phones upstairs was killing me. I can not sleep. And if you live on ground floor, the air conditioner outdoor machine also never let you sleep. The gym and free wifi are jokes. The good things are this place is pet friendly and is close to bus stop. And the security is good.
The location is a few miles from campus, but it is a lot closer than locations of a similar price range (The Links, The Pointe) and has a shuttle stop out front.
Most of the staff is students, so if you are one, they understand the issues with student living and are more than happy to help with whatever you need, and any issues I have had have been resolved quickly.
The Grove is exactly what my roommates and I were looking for. Cheap, good management, good living area. We love the management, and every time something needed a repair, it was repaired by the next day, or maybe 2/3 days if it was over a weekend. Not furnished, but I didn't mind investing into some furniture that I can keep around for a while. Internet is provided but sometimes slow. However they fixed lots of the internet issues when they blocked some sites that were sucking service. Very pet friendly and generally quiet. LOVE IT and highly recommend it!
Really cheap to stay. Its far fr the university campus but you got a shuttle to ride on.
Don't do it horrible unit- moved daughter in to start college- unit is unlivable-Mold in bath and rotten kitchen floor- unable to use shower, it leaked to unit below- no one to fix anything - sent two workers over , said they had a work order for long time - and unable to get to it- property manager was not aver available. Stayed there less then 7 days, now to get our $$ back.. wish us luck- Trust me , dont rent from this place !
This is the ideal place to live in if you are a student that owns a dog. Reasonable rent, free (albeit slow) wi-fi, and plenty of discounts if you are a student. The no leash dog park is a godsend and really promotes a sense of community that I've never felt at an apartment complex before. They also have a small gym and just put in a lounge that is a great place to watch games or play pool.
