They had been recommended by another shop who was flummoxed.
The recommended shop had no idea what the problem was even though I had an idea it was this sludge problem. They finally got around to fixing it after changing out the oil pump (likely unnecessarily) I ended up paying nearly $800. Perhaps there are things I don't understand about what they did, but that's also bad. Why should I be kept in the dark? I felt like A&R really understood the issue and took the time to explain it to me.
I will never take my vehicle here again they took a month to do work that should have taken 2 weeks max.
The guys at A & R are very knowledgeable and professional! Quick turn around and a fair price! I will be bringing my Subaru back the next time it needs work!
I took my wife's 1998 Lexus in for service. Those cars (especially the ones that were lease cars) have a known oil sludge problem. The owner/mechanic (who has a mechanical engineering degree) was well aware of the problem and recommended several courses of action. I got out of there for under $300. This is cheap. I'll tell you why.
My Pathfinder has a "Service Engine Soon" light on now. Guess where I'm taking it.
